One of Asia's premier female artists, Ayu shot to stardom shortly after her debut in 1999 when sales of her first album suddenly achieved platinum status. Including her 51 singles, 15 albums and other releases, she became the very first solo artist in Japanese music history to sell over 50 million albums and singles combined. In terms of singles alone, Ayu boasts career sales of over 20 million units. Her innumerable achievements also include 25 consecutive number-one singles on the Japanese National Singles Chart. With two successful Asian tours under her belt, Ayu is undoubtedly a queen of pop in Asia. Since her debut, Ayu has also released as many as 22 remix albums produced with contributions from big-name artists from around the world (see below). “Feel the love,” Ayu’s single released in December 2013, contains a remix produced by Blasterjaxx. Additionally, her new album “Colours” (out July 2nd, 2014) features productions by Armin van Buuren, Fedde Le Grand, RedOne, Rodney Jerkins, DJ Hello Kitty, m-flo and DAISHI DANCE.
